Hi Andy,

I just followed your example and it worked very well. Thank you. I've never used WCF before. How do I implement it? I know how to move the SmartDeviceSyncClient to the mobile device, but not sure how to implement the MiddleTierServiceLibrary. Any direction would be appreciated.

I found the problem.

I've found that the error number was 8007000E and found that this was because of not enough memory. I changed the memory configuration increasing program memory (shrinking storage memory) and then it works OK.

Andy, thanks for this article. It made me clearer some things about sync framework.

But I'm getting an error on a device when I try to sync. This excetion raise at Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SyncStatistics syncStats = syncAgent.Synchronize(); The problem is that the exception has no message..this come empty and doesn't has any inner exception. Could you give a clue on how to find the problem? I can navigate to web service from IE, the device I'm using has Windows CE 5.0..it's an MC3090.

Hi, Andy, many thanks for your nice article. But there was an runtime exception when I run on the emulator or real device. The exception raise at "Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SyncStatistics syncStats = syncAgent.Synchronize();" in form1.cs. The exception name was TargetInvocationException! How can I do then? Because of configuration problems? Pls help me!!! Thnx in advance!!!

Many thanks for your nice article! But there was an runtime exception when I run the device app on emulator or real device. At code that "Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.SyncStatistics syncStats = syncAgent.Synchronize();" raise an TargetInvocationException. So, I can not run the demo. How can I do? Pls help me, thnx!!!

Thanks for the resonse Andy. As you noted it was an issue with my connection to the service on my local PC that was the problem. I'm not sure why, but at the time, I could not access any URLs on my local PC while having unlimited access to the internet. It seems that after a reboot and a good night's sleep, the gremlins went away and things started working just fine. Thanks again!

Value can not be null.

Parameter name: ServerSyncProvider

I'm having the same problem but can't figure out how to solve it.

Can u please update me on how to handle Data conflict on mobile as the event didn't get raise ApplaychangedFailed on device it only works on server.

please suggest some link for the soln if you have it.

Josh - the error message tells it like it is!

You need to set the URL property of the Sync Service WCF proxy correctly to point at the correct location where your service is running. Then you need to check you can access that service from your device - a simple check for that is just to access the service using Internet Explorer Mobile on the device - if you see the regular WCF service test page, then you're connected OK.

I started with Maarten Struys tutorial, which is currently up to step 5, creating the sync service, but does not show how to utilize it in the app. So, I came over here, and attempted to tack on your info to finish my app. I added a table view form and added your Form_load and Sync() method. Now, I'm getting a {"TargetInvocationException"} error, with InnerException {"Could not establish connection to network."} when attempting to execute the syncAgent.Synchronize() in the Sync() method. Do you have any ideas for troubleshooting? I am using an emulator, cradled with ActiveSync.
